The National Science Committee of the Executive Yuan approval the subsidy for the “Industrial Technology Improvement and Talent Cultivation Research Project”. The project name: Research on the relationship between the microstructure and electrical properties of lead-free zinc oxide varistors developed”.

In response to the 2002/95/EC RoHS Directive (the restriction of the use of cetain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) announced by the European Union on 2003.02.13, it is clearly required that electronic products must not contain lead, cadmium, or mercury starting from 2006.07.01, Hexavalent chromium and other heavy metals and brominated flame retardants such as PBB and PBDE, Lead-free will become the basic requirement of future electronic products. The company started to develop lead-free products.
