Load Dump – means the battery of AC generators occurs disconnection during charging. Besides, the engine starts also occurs load dump and the energy is the largest transmission interference pulse for vehicles. Why happens? While power generator is working, the loading is suddenly dumped (ex. battery on charging). The energy of generator can’t release and will cause the hundreds of voltage in power circuit, generally 5-10ms, half wave 100, 200, 300, 400 etc. (Due to the different joule of generators). To clamp the voltage of load dump, the output of ECU will connect overvoltage protection devices in parallel.
